How to Cancel ExpressVPN on Every Device

In this quick guide, I will show you exactly how to cancel your ExpressVPN subscription before it’s due for renewal so you won’t be charged again. ExpressVPN subscriptions plans are either every month, every six months, or every 12 months, based on what you signed up for.

The cancellation method you’ll use will be based on the platform you used to sign up for the service.

You must cancel at least 24 hours before the end of your free trial or the next billing date. Otherwise, you might end up getting billed even after attempting to cancel.

  1. Sign in to your ExpressVPN account.

  1. Under Subscription, you’ll see your subscription duration and renewal date.
  2. Select Manage subscription settings.
  3. On the Automatic Renewal Settings page, select Turn off automatic renewal. (This option only appears if it was on in the first place.)
  4. Confirm your settings.
  5. You’ll now see Automatic Renewal is OFF for

After automatic renewal is off, you won’t be billed for another subscription cycle.

You can still use ExpressVPN until the last day of your cycle. You’ll also still be able to use your ExpressVPN free trial if you were still on it until the 7th day.

Note: You can’t use the ExpressVPN app to cancel your subscription. Also, subscriptions made with Bitcoin and Paymentwall do not need to be cancelled as they do not automatically renew anyway.

Cancel ExpressVPN Subscription via Google Play Store

1. Open the Play Store app on your device. (You have to be signed into the Google account you used to sign up).
2. Tap your profile icon at the top right.
3. Tap Payment & subscriptions > Subscriptions.
4. Select ExpressVPN.
5. Tap Cancel.

That’s it, you’ve now cancelled your ExpressVPN subscription. You will still be able to use the remaining time that you’ve purchased but it will not renew after this last cycle.

On your iOS device:

  1. Open the App Store using the account you used to sign up.
  2. Open your subscriptions list.
  3. Select Cancel Trial or Cancel Subscription.
  4. Select Confirm.

That’s it, now you’ve cancelled the subscription you made to ExpressVPN on your iOS device.
